Merika Enne is one of the best female snowboarders in Finland. Her riding style is aggressive and she has a lot of pop, meaning she is able to jump really high. She has been pushing her riding to a higher level every season. Last season she got silver in Big Air at the world Championships, but filming street snowboarding is what she likes the most. Last season she filmed with a Finnish crew called Kaira Productions. The crew consists mostly of men, which challenges her as a rider. Some spots where really scary, but she overcame her fears. Kaira Productions had their movie premier in Finland at Ruka Ski resort and also in Rovaniemi. Now you can watch the movie on Vimeo as well. This season she is going to focus on filming even more.
Merika walks her own path. Not only is her riding style unique, but her clothing style stands out as well. Women with a brave and laid-back attitude to their style inspire Merika. Her style is also influenced by her sponsors, and she is happy to work with sponsors in who’s clothes she feels comfortable. Adidas is among her favorite sponsors. One thing that Merika would never wear is a tiny dress in which she couldn’t move. When asking Merika which clothes makes her feel good, the answer is obvious; pulling her riding gear on! But only if she is going shredding, once she had to wear her riding gear to a photo shoot and that was sweaty as h*ll. Another thing she loves to wear is a bucket hat. It’s her favorite item at the moment, as it goes with everything and surely makes her rad!
Recently Merika also became a Protect Our Winters Finland advocate. Protect Our Winters Finland is part of the international Protect Our Winters movement, that brings together winter sports enthusiasts and businesses involved in winter sports. POW encourages people and companies to work together against climate change. POW advocates’ mission is to engage the snowsports community and lead by example the fight against climate change.
We are proud to have Merika in our Friends team.
